Practical preparation.
One household at a time.

Offgrid Family helps you turn “we should be more prepared” into a plan you can work through—starting with the people in your home, the days you want to cover, and the supplies you already have.

Start with what you need

The household planner brings food, water, power, first aid, and hygiene into one checklist. Separate options cover pets and infants. Adjust your answers, compare the targets with what you own, and fill the gaps at a pace that works for you.

Buying something is not the same as being prepared. Food needs to suit your household, water containers need to be filled, equipment needs to work, and everyone needs to know the plan.

How the planner works

Supply targets use your household size, timeframe, and selected assumptions. Water accounts for hot weather and pet allowances; food recommendations use the calorie gap after your pantry supplies; battery estimates follow the devices you choose. Product quantities round up to whole containers, packs, or units.

These are planning estimates, not guarantees. Where a product’s capacity, calorie total, or pack size still needs confirmation, we identify the assumption. Check the current listing and label before buying. Our guides link to public-agency guidance and manufacturer information where relevant.

How we choose product options

We organize recommendations into Bare Necessities, Recommended, and Upgraded options. The aim is to show a starting point and explain what an upgrade adds—not to suggest that every family needs the most expensive option.

We compare stated specifications and how an item fits the calculated target. Recommendations are not claims of hands-on testing; we have not personally tested every product listed. Prices, availability, model names, and package contents can change.
